GREEN TEA MAY PROMOTE BONE HEALTH

A study from the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry states that green tea may promote bone health. Certain chemicals in green tea can stimulate the bone formation process, thereby, reducing the breakdown of bones.

Researchers exposed cells that form bones to the three main green tea components, egc, gc and gcg all natural chemicals found in green tea. EGC seemed to stimulate the activity of a major enzyme that increased bone growth up to 79%. EGC significantly increased bone mineralization. High amounts of ECG (epigallocatechin) blocked the activity of a type of osteoclast that is responsible for bones to become weak. This study was announced in Hong Kong, China.

The study concluded that green tea may be beneficial for people concerned about brittle bones or other bone diseases.

Green Tea is available in bag, bulk or in an extract form.
